Hey there! I’ve got a question if you have a second. I’ve got a k40 machine and would like to upgrade to a 50 watt tube. Do you know if I’ll also need to upgrade my power supply in order for this to work properly?

    1. Brian Dominique Field says:

Did you run the k40 on a 50w tube without changing the psu, how was it i’ve been trying to find out if this would work myself.

    LOVE K40 Whisperer!!!
Hands down the best replacement software to use.
Very easy to understand settings and use.

    Thank you,
    James A.

There a number of k40 brands , could you say which is the best choice?
Also, is inkscape/k40 whisperer difficult to learn?

Quick question. I purchased a K40 last month (December) but it arrived with a cracked tube. The company refunded the cost of a new tube, which was easy to replace. Finally got it fired up, but now it won’t quit lasering. It won’t engrave, it more gouges, even returned home, powered and stayed powered until I pushed the “laser switch” off (defaults to on position, “laser test switch” does nothing). Any ideas or advice what to check/look for or where to go to ask? Users manual doesn’t help, and the seller put me on ignore mode. Any helpful pointers would be appreciated.

The baase machine is a great place to begin. I have purchased 2 new 40 w systems and plan upgrades before I even plug them in, I am wondering if upgrades applied in this condition if it is a smart hing to do?

If it starts working after the electricity goes out of the same area

I’m planning on purchasing a k40 engraver to be able to engage my logo on my handmade duck calls.
I was wondering if I would have to have a cylindrical attachment or will it grave with with out one on that small of area.

What will be the best setting for a plexiglass 2mm with a K40 laser?

    1. fugitiveALiEN says:

Try the acrylic settings listed because plexiglass just an acrylic namebrand. Lexan is similar but it’s a different kind of plastic called polycarbonate. Be sure your ventilation is good when cutting these.

As for the honeycomb bed, It’s up to you really. You don’t really need one, but if you do manage to get one it will help with smoke dissipation and it’s a good stable platform for your work.

Personally I didn’t have one for the first 5 months havin my K40
